LA RIOJA

La Rioja is situated in northern Spain, lying along the Ebro river, south of the Cantabrian mountains. These protect the area from harsh northern winds, enabling the three main areas of La Rioja – Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Baja – to produce wines with distinct characters. Rioja is a Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOC).

RIBERA DEL DUERO

This flat, rocky region of northern Spain is criss-crossed by the Duero river and is home to many splendid vineyards, including Peñafiel and Roa de Duero. Almost all its wines are red, made from the Tempranillo grape, but it is also known for the world-renowned Vega Sicilia and Tinto Pesquera wine.
